I don’t think that I have ever been fascinated by Mumbai- to what people call “City of Dreams”, but when few days back my friend offered me that I should accompany him on his visit to Mumbai, to catch up with my old friends I wasn’t able to deny it. Honestly, it was not because of my friends! The reason was Mumbai in monsoons. I thought that only rains in Mumbai can make me see the city from another lense. And surely it did. I was there for just three days and I will be sharing with you “How Monsoons Convinced Me” that the city is “Most Romantic” in rains. Sharing with you what I felt and experienced.

Romantic long drives in Autorikshaw’s: Yes, you may have a long drive in your car too and that is most enjoyable. But it is also great sometimes to enjoy the city without the car window glasses too. You don’t have to bother about the traffic or the honking car behind you. Its just you and your partner together. Let the autowala take all the pain and let him show you the city his way. This is something I have inherited from my dad. Whenever we were travelling somewhere for work and didn’t had much time he would tell the auto wala to show us the city and he would pay him grand at the end of the sight seeing. But for you! you can direct him too.. and plan something special for you partner. I know Mumbai Traffic is a pain. But when you both hold hands, hold her by waist and the harsh rain splashing you and your partner on the sides. The feeling is magical. I would love to get stuck in traffic for this!

A long walk in Bandra with your Partner: I am a kind of person who enjoy long walks, so this has to be here. I like the inner lanes of Bandra and definitely not the hill road. But a long walk with your partner in rains, before the rains and after the rains is definitely magical. You may pass by the Mount Mary Church. I loved this Church. Its architecture is marvellous and sitting there in peace is rejuvenating. Exploring and lighting a candle together is also romantic for few. It was so cute to see young couples and teen love blossoming under the presence of almighty.

The perfect end to the walk with Bandra Bandstand Wind Waves and Sunsets: Let your walk end by the Bandra Bandstand! Sunset here is gorgeous! and mostly the tide is high in monsoons. It was lovely. Not that I love Mumbai beaches (kerela wins here for me) but yes sitting by the rocks with your partner and watching the sun go down or sharing an umbrella together or just witnessing the changing patterns of clouds is kinda off romantic. Selfie here is a must!

Versova not the beach but the rocks: Versova beach is actually an extension of Juhu beach and meets the arabian sea. While the beach is also a busy fish market, if you walk ahead of the beach you will be able to chill on the rocks and also enjoy the waves. The amazing windy experience near this beach is worth the ups and downs, you will face on the rocks! Post the sunset enjoy coffee in lovely cafeterias (within budget) around Versova. Leaping Windows was where i chilled with my friends. Free Wifi and a cozy place away from city traffic tucked in lanes of Versova. They have a library with over 2000 comic books which you can rent for Rs 30 per hour or so. I like reading with my friends and I haven’t really read a comic with someone, this is something I would love to explore. You can let me know other great options for cafe’s in Versova or around. I would love to explore them next time.

Buying a Big Large Umbrella and walking the lanes alone: “No one can love you, if you don’t love yourself” I strongly believe this and yes, Single people can have a great time in Monsoons of Mumbai. Thats what I did. Like the normal Umbrella’s, Mumbai specialises in extra large umbrella’s usage and they are damn cute! So.. buy that large umbrella and explore all the things in the list alone and love yourself! I love to hangout alone and explore the city all by myself. Try it! I hope rains will woo you!

Enjoying Rain and food: Nothing can end here without the lovely street food. I am not a fan of Mumbai Vada Pav (Baroda wins here)… They serve it cold! and I don’t like their panipoori either. The best to enjoy was the sevpuri and the local super cheesy sandwiches and pizza’s. I had them in Bandra and they were yumm.

FELT IT… ENJOYED IT… MISSING IT.. MUMBAI RAINS…

You can share here what you like most about Mumbai rains and things I should not miss the next time I am in the city. I would love if you too share your experiences and what you feel about this post!
