Even the most beautiful lines, the most effective words and the most impactful poems can’t do justice, when describing the beauty of this small hill station. Ooty is a place that will surely steal your heart away; its magnificent beauty will never let you leave the place. The tea, the aromatic oil, the cheese, the handmade chocolates, these are something that you can take back with you along with the beautiful experience this place has to offer.

Also known as Udhagamandalam and sometimes Ootacamund, the hill station of Ooty lies near the Nilgiris in Tamil Nadu ‘The blue mountains’ are the major responsible factor for this town’s popularity. Ooty was my first southern hill station experience and I was awed by the beauty. The green was also so green that my eyes still have the look and feel in them. The noise here is low, the population is also low, the hustle bustle is low too and the only thing that will be high is your spirits and enthusiasm.  Located far from the city clamour, Ooty dwells a pleasant climate throughout the year that attracts leisure tourists as well.

Located on the slopes of the Doddabetta peak this is one location very often used by bolywood films, if you visit the place you will feel as if on the sets of “Maine Pyaar kiya”. Spread over acres of land, the greenery is in abundance here.

Each one of you would have heard about the nilgiris but the experience of how it feels to be here would be witnessed only by one’s eyes not by the texts or the pictures.

The steam engine ride is another factor to add some drama to your trip. There is nothing special about the ride and it’s rather slow, that you can get down and climb it again. Still the view and the feel that it gives is awesome.

It’s an hour of travel from the centre town of ooty and the roads aren’t in perfect shape. When you are here don't forget to take speed motor boat ride. This is one of the least visited spots in Ooty, maybe because of the distance from the city but it’s just Awesome and a MUST - VISIT spot.

This sanctuary has a mix of flat land, undulating parkland, open grassland, swamp, valleys and nullahs. An erstwhile game reserve, Mudumalai was declared a wildlife sanctuary with a 62 sq KM area in the early 1940 by the then Madras Presidency. There is an entire jungle safari that you take taking you right through the jungle.
