This large building of marble was built between 1906 - 1921. It is dedicated to the memory of Queen Victoria. The building is surrounded by lush green gardens. It is now a museum and a tourist destination. Visitors have to pay the fees to enter the building. Inside the building, one can see the British India memorabilia - the large collection of oil paintings by famous artists of that period.
Howrah Bridge is the famous symbol of Kolkata. Commissioned in 1943, it is a cantilever bridge with a suspended span over the Hooghly river in West Bengal. It is the sixth longest bridge of its type in the world. The bridge provides the views of the vibrant city.
This 19th century temple is dedicated to the deity Bhavatarini, an aspect of Kali, an Hindu Goddess. It was constructed by a wealthy widow Rani Rasmani who was a devotee of Kali. People say that she had a dream, during her pilgrimage to Benaras, in which Kali told her to construct the temple and she will install there.
This mansion id famous for its architecture. Its walls and floors are all made with marble. It is a palatial 19th century mansion designed in Neoclassical style with open courtyards. It was built in 1835 by Raja Rajendra Mullick, who was a wealthy Bengali merchant. The marble palace zoo is located next to this mansion. Although the mansion is a private residence so the photography is prohibited and entry is free but a permit is needed. Then, the guide gives you the tour of the house.
