Close your eyes and take a step back in time and realize the evolution of our thoughts as individuals as we grow. Childhood to adulthood, our minds have been engraved with the thoughts of success. The generic meaning of success is defined by our worth. All our life we put in our time to gaining knowledge, which is a wonderful thing. However the purpose of life is defeated, as the truth is that we do this to make money. When did the value of your bank account become a measure of your life? Think about this, how many times have you been asked the question “what do you want to be when you grow up?” and how many times did that answer change, depending on the value of that career and the potential bank balance it can lead to. How conveniently do we change our “dreams” in want for a financially successful life? When you begin to understand these questions, understand this – you cannot measure your life with a stack of paper bills. As you get older you will realize that the moments of everyday life that you missed out because you were trying to make a ‘better’ life, were the actual moments that would’ve made life memorable. People, experiences, places, travel, food, love, friendships, this is what makes life what it is. Your life is not your cubicle.

If whatever we have said has made any sense to you, please, take a moment. Ask yourself this. Have you given up too much of your life to make a life? If you think you have, it is not too late for you to make some changes. Spend some time with your family and friends. Take a trip; enjoy the beauty that this world has to offer; share a few laughs, enjoy some good food, live in this moment. Take a look up in the night sky and watch the stars twinkle.
