We had a 6 pm train from Delhi to Jaipur, we were so excited, also it was our first time travelling in a double decker train. We packed our last minute essentials and booked a cab for the railway station. It was a 4-5 hour journey.

We reached Jaipur around 10 pm, Once you reach the station you can either book online cab directly from your phone or else you also can reach to the cab counter which you can find just outside the station. If you wanna book a local Tuk tuk (Auto Rickshaw) or a cab, try to bargain as much as you can, because they will charge way more than the actual amount. Since it was our first time visit in Jaipur, we preferred booking Online Cab and left for our Hotel.

Also if you're are looking for a budget friendly hotel in the central area, we recommend you to find a hotel in Bani Park. All the places we visited were near to this place.

The next morning we planned to visit only forts. We forgot to book personal cab/bike so we had to book a local cab through a local travel Agency. They provide you cabs for 8 hours along with the driver. You will find various travel agencies around the city.

Day 1

So the first fort we visited was the Amer Fort also known as the Amber Fort. It was way more beautiful than that we imagined.

The fort is outside the city, 11 kilometers from Jaipur. Amer was the capital of the city before Jaipur became the capital. The entry charges are 100 Rs for Indian tourists. If you have a student ID you will get 90% off. If you are into history, we do recommend you to hire a guide.

Later in the evening we left for Nahargarh Fort.

Nahargarh Fort is around 11 km from Amer Fort. We really enjoyed the beautiful mountains and greenery we saw on the way to Nahargarh Fort.

Nahargarh Fort

Nahargarh Fort stands on the edge of the Aravalli Hills. We planned to visit the fort in the evening because we didn't wanted to miss the sunset from the view point. You can easily see the whole city from the fort. We must say that sunset was one of the most beautiful sunset we've ever seen.

The Next Morning We planned to cover Gaitore ki Chhatriyan, City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Albert Hall Museum (Since all the places were near by). We wanted a personal car so we booked it online a day before, everything was ready and we were ready to explore jaipur.

Day 2

So the first Place we visited was Gaitore ki Chhatriyan. The Entry Ticket is 30 Rs per person. Since was raining that day, we were lucky enough to find the whole place empty.

Gaitore Ki Chhatriyan

Until 1949, the City Palace was used for the ceremonies and administrative Events of the Maharaja of Jaipur. It is now Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum.

The entry ticket is 200 rs Per person, additional discounts for students. With that ticket You can only Explore the Palace from the Ground Floor, If you want to see the beauty of the city palace completely and want to go upper floors, you have to pay around 2k - 3k INR to go and see the palace from the inside.

The rest of the day was all about shopping experience in Jaipur. We visited Bapu Bazaar and Jhohari Bazaar. If you want to shop from Jaipur, we recommend you to buy from local shops and not from these markets as they charge very high, still if you want to buy, don't forget to bargain to the maximum.
