Rishikesh- Rafting battle with the Ganges!

Tripoto

Ever since the inception of the word rafting ,Rishikesh has always been in my mind.

Rishikesh is a city of temples but it is better known for the best possible river rafting in India.

River Rafting is done in the holy river of Ganges. The epic green color of ganges is a sight to behold.

Rishikesh is well connected from Delhi through Road and Rail network

Rafting is done at Shivpuri and the length of the entire rafting journey is 16 kms.

Day 1

I along with my colleagues from office started our journey late night from Delhi as the college had organized a traveler directly to Rishikesh.

We packed few snacks here and there and went ahead with 6 hours of clean road trip.

It was late night and we had a lot of fun waiting at certain dhabas and eating dinner as well. The entire road journey was spent waiting for the water sports next day.

Overall the entire journey was fun and during the early hours we reached Rishikesh.

Day 2

After reaching Rishikesh, we had a healthy breakfast and decided to get ready for Shivpuri( the initial point of rafting)

I was little skeptical because i never knew how to swim Plus there were so many videos of raft and accidents in Ganges during rafting that i was feeling scared to hell.

Ganges was calling me so i decided to take the risk and got ready with 6 people in my group for the raft.

And thank god i tried it. It was lovely the initial movement in the slow moving Ganges was amazing but the fun came when we came across some arduous rapids.

Rapids were given the name. I remember the tough ones. Double Trouble and Golf Course were the most amazing ones where your heart will skip many beats.

Then came the time when the water was still and the trainer asked us to jump in the water which was one real fun activity.

There is also a time when the raft are stopped for a heart bustling Cliff jump into the Ganges. I never tried the same.

The entire rafting experience should be in bucket list of everyone.
