Located in the foothills of Himalayas in Uttarakhand, this place needs no introduction. I never knew I would end up loving a place in such a short time.
We reached Rishikesh in the morning from Mussoorie which is about 85 kms. We stayed at Zostel which was near lakshman jhula. I was so excited to explore Rishikesh, as soon as we checked in, we dumped our bags and wandered out. People take tuk-tuks to travel around but we just decided to walk and trust me, it was one of the most beautiful walks I've ever taken. People doing yoga on the banks of the river, small kuteers on the side and travellers from all over the world.
Ganga Aarti at triveni ghat
After a beautiful walk from lakshman jhula to Ram jhula, we headed directly to triveni ghat. Aarti happens in the evening around 6 pm at Triveni ghat and you would not want to miss this. People come from all over the world to experience this beautiful aarti performed on the banks of river Ganga.
After this amazing experience, we headed back to zostel and called it a day.
Next day in the morning we went to little buddha cafe for breakfast. Fell in love with everything about this cafe, the food, the ambience,the people and most importantly, the view.
After a really good breakfast, we went on a stroll again cause you just cant get over the walk. Highly recommend a walk from Lakshman jhula to ram jhula.
