1. Zermatt
Zermatt, no matter what, is an ideal location to spend your time in Switzerland in every season. Situated in Canton Valais, at a high altitude is a skiing paradise in winter and is well known for its unique mountain the ‘Matterhorn’. Any Swiss chocolate lover would know from where the Toblerone chocolate shape was designed, once you are in Zermatt.
One among the many viewpoints in Zermatt is the famous alpine lake Riffelsee. It can be reached from the Rotenboden railway station on the Gornergratbahn with a short hike. The reflection of the Matterhorn on this lake makes it an ideal photo location.

2. Rosenlaui
Ever since we moved to Switzerland, pictures from this location have been popping up on Instagram feed. We were longing to visit this stunning place and it made up to the expectations. This alpine valley offers a stunning view of the Rosenlaui glacier among the peaks of the Bernese Alps, which has attracted world-famous poets. You can either drive to Gschwantenmad bus stop from Meiringen or take the post bus from Meiringen and get down at Gschwantenmad bus stop and the exact spot is right in front of you. Be sure to check the post bus timings as it runs only in summer.

3. Lauterbrunnen
Surrounded by majestic peaks, this valley of 72 waterfalls is undoubtedly one of the most picture-perfect alpine villages in the Jungfrau region.
Stroll casually in this valley and every corner of this village offers stunning frames the most famous being near Chalet Pironnet. From the Lauterbrunnen main railway station, an easy walk around 15minutes towards the direction of Chalet Pironnet will take you to this amazing viewpoint.

4. Grindelwald First Cliff Walk and Bachalpsee
Take the cable car from Grindelwald to Grindelwald First. With the breathtaking view of the alps, glaciers and waterfalls, this adventure paradise offers an otherworldly experience.
A few minutes walk to the right from the First station along the Intersport shop takes you to Grindelwald Cliff walk (Marked with clear signboards). Continue to Lake Bachalpsee, one of the easiest hikes in the Bernese Oberland Region. With an amazing view of the Wetterhorn, from the lake, this is one hike not to be missed when in the area.

5. Foroglio
A spectacular sight of the Foroglio waterfall from the village with typical stone houses is a unique sight in Ticino canton. Either drive or take the post bus to this village.
Explore the village towards the direction of the waterfall. At the end of the village, there is a hike towards the left which takes you near to the waterfall. Take right from this point and explore the narrow paths. Further, you go, you will see the best view of the waterfall with the village from every corner.

6. Seealpsee
The rolling hills of Appenzell, the Alpstein region in Switzerland, offers typical swiss frames. Among the many popular destinations, Seealpsee is one not to be missed.
It can be reached only by hiking from the train station Wasserauen.
Make sure to take the circular trail around the lake for different perspectives.

7. Aletsch glacier
The largest glacier in the Alps, the Aletsch glacier, is a natural spectacle. With many viewpoints in the Aletsch Arena, the below is from the hiking trail from Bettmeralp to lake Märjelensee. The whole hike is alongside this massive glacier of the Alps. You can also just cable cars to any of these stations to have wonderful views: Bettmerhorn, Eggishorn, Moosfluh, Hohfluh.

8. Lake Blausee
Though it is probably one of the very few lakes in Switzerland that has an entry fee, it is worth a visit. This deep blue crystal clear lake in the Kandersteg region is a magical spot in every season. We loved it more in Autumn and Winter. The bus stop near this place is called Blausee BE.
Though a small lake, its unique colour, numerous trouts, and alpine backdrop makes it a spectacular one to visit. Make sure to take the short circular trail around the lake for stunning perspectives.

9. Jungfraujoch
The top of Europe, as it says, definitely would be a bucket list to be checked off on a visit to Switzerland. The Jungfrau railway is an engineering marvel which takes you to the top of Europe’s highest altitude railways station, which itself is UNESCO listed.
An Alpine wonder awaits you on top of the Jungfraujoch which has a breathtaking view of the Aletsch glacier and the majestic Alps. Take a walk from the Jungfraujoch to Mönchsjoch Hut to have wonderful views and a great experience of snow hiking.

10. Rhone Glacier
A dream stand inside a glacier cave could be fulfilled by visiting the Rhone Glacier. The place is easily reachable with a bus in summer. The stop is called Belvedere Furka.
