I love holidays, everyone loves them! And its even better when you get a stack of them. Independence Day is around the corner and it is bringing a 4 day leave ( If you can take Monday a leave). What's exciting for people on Tripoto will be is that they must look this as a opportunity to travel. You need a trip to wrap up soon and still don't want to miss on fun. So here are a few places around Delhi I found could be just perfect for these days.

1) Haridwar-Rishkesh

Get a car and go all the way 200km to Haridwar. A 5 hour long ride will take you there. Visit the holy place and Get ready to travel a little more to Rishikesh. Here is where the real fun begins. From river side camping to river rafting each and everything here will get you the essential break you need. If you want more info on rishikesh you can read my dedicated blog I published some time ago.

2) Jim Corbett and Nainital

One more destination easily accessible through personal car. Explore the wilds and get close with big cats. Enjoy the night stay in huts in low level mountains. Relax here for a couple of days or get going towards Nainital. Take a essence of cool breeze. A walk near the lake at night will melt your city hustle and overload.

3) Mcleodganj-Triund Trek

Get on with your gang and climb the mountains. Reach Mcleodganj overnight from volvo and spend the whole day exploring cafes and mountains. Go to the trek and spend two nights under billions of stars solving the mysteries of universe. This would be the perfect 4 day trip with your friends.

4) Jaipur and Jaisalmer

Those saffron-red sky, that golden sand. Nothing can be much soothing than watching the sun setting in front your eyes sitting on the desert sand. Visit the pink city to see the Raw Rajasthani culture. Feel the temperature changing in the desert as the night sets and let the blanket of stars cover you completely. Eat the traditional food that will make you go wow all the way.

5) Chandigarh - Amritsar

Make a visit to India's one of the most well planned cities-Chandigarh. The city is beautiful and highly enjoyable. Everyone I ask says Chandigarh is a gem. Don't stop yourself here. Head over to Amritsar and visit the beautiful Golden Temple, India Pakistan border and feel the patriotism in your blood this Independence Day. Spend a day with soldiers and give them the respect they deserve.
