Whether you're interested in history, religion, architecture or nature, Udaipur is one place that packs in attractions for all kinds of travellers. Here are places that you must visit.

This temple is one of the most holy sites, not just in Udaipur but in the entire Spiti Lahaul district. It is also the most significant landmarks of the town. Dating back to more than 6,000 years, the temple is said to have been created by Lord Vishvakarma himself. In fact, it is also deeply associated with Goddess Durga as it is believed that this is the spot where she killed Mahishasur, the demon. Therefore, Mrikula Devi Temple is as important as any Shaktipeeth around the country. If you're someone who is religious and believes in god, you must experience the sheer peace and bliss that this temple offers.

Located 9km away from Udaipur, lies Triloknath, an 8th century temple that is held in high regard by both, Buddhists and Hindus. This is the only temple in the world that is worshipped by both the religions as such. For Hindus, the deity in the temple is Shiva while Buddhists worship him as Arya Avalokiteshwar. The temple also has an interesting test for all devotees. It features a column which cannot be crossed if you are a sinner, no matter how thin or flexible you may be. So head to Triloknath if you want to put yourself on test.
