Hey there,

First of all let me tell you, Hampi is one of the most amazing places to visit in India. Also, Vijayanagara-Hampi was the world's second-largest medieval-era city after Beijing.

All the places I've mentioned above are nearby to each other or you can follow the sequence from the map.

I've booked an auto for the whole day and he charged me 850INR/- (After a lot of bargain). So, I covered almost all the main places on 1st day. My plan is to visit Virupaksha temple at the time of sunrise. So, I moved it to my 2nd day.

1. I started with Mustard Ganesha temple, where you can observe Ganesha sitting on the laps of goddess Parvathi ONLY FROM BEHIND.

2. Visited Krishna temple and Krishna bazaar. Carvings on Krishna temple are marvelous. Opposite to Krishna Temple, Krishna bazaar is located where they used to sell lumps of gold, tons of diamonds , spices export and import etc. Now, it's just an empty space with the ruined structures.

3. Next headed to Badavi Lingam and Ugranarasimha Swamy. Few parts of Ugra Narasimha Swamy were ruined in war. But the archaeological survey of department have fixed it to make a structure. Badavi Lingam, in the local language, Badva means poor and Linga represents Shiva. There are a lot more facts about this place if you can google it.

4. There's an underground Shiva temple, which is constructed many meters below the ground level so it lies under water. The inner portions of the shrine is always filled with water not in summers though. According to one theory, it is the water of Tungabhadra river that flows inside through a canal.

5. Zanana enclosure which costs ticket fee of INR 40/- per person. In this enclosure we have Lotus Mahal, Elephant's stables and watch tower. The structures of the Zanana enclosure are in Indo-Islamic style of architecture.

6. Hazara Rama temple is the only temple in Hampi which has a well carved compound wall. The exterior walls which narrate the entire story of Ramayana. This depicts the episodes of birth of Rama, marriage, his exile into the forest, the abduction of Sita and the fight between Rama and Ravana.

7. Moving to one of my most awaiting place, Pushkarani. One among the famous stepped wells in India. Each step set is a pleasing pattern. It was built with well planning and much in advance that we can even relocate the step-well with same pattern. One more place to visit around this area is Queen's bath.

8. By the time I cover all these places, it's time for sunset. So, I've moved my checklist place to the end i.e., Vittala Temple and the stone Chariot, the most famous and magnificent structures in India.

9. Hemakuta hill (Sunset point), Best place to spend your evening relaxed after all your visiting. You can find all the tourists, photographers taking pictures and foreigners gather here playing music and bring that cool hippie vibe up here along with the sunset.

10. Mattanga hill (Sunrise point), Achyutaraya temple, one of the best sunrise I could say. Just sit and breathe the fresh air with some awestruck views. One have to put some efforts to climb up to enjoy the best view of Hampi. Trust me, you would never regret.

11. Virupaksha temple (The only active temple in Hampi)

Timings: 9am to 1pm and 5pm to 9pm

The Virupaksha Temple is one of the most stunning landmarks in India. The temple is also known for the elephant who blesses the pilgrims at the gate of the temple. There is a small slit in the wall of the temple which exhibits a pin-hole camera effect in the day when the sun-rays pass through it creating an inverted image of the main tower.
