Instead of Goa, I spent 7 days in this beautiful location just a few kilometers away.

Malvan is one of the tourist places in Maharashtra which offers beautiful views of the Arabian Sea. The trip was about 7 days, back in November, 2018. The weather was cool and windy, makes the trip perfect. Water sports here made my trip special. I would say, there are so much to see in this small place that 7 days weren't enough to explore.

Day 1

We traveled by train from Dadar at 5.25 am and got off at kankavli railway station at around 11.45 am. It takes around 7 hours by train to reach the destination, kankavli. Then we got a car from the station to reach my friend's house. After reaching, we got fresh and headed straight to the nearby river spent some time with friends lazing around the farm.

Day 2

The next day, we got up early to start exploring nearby spots. The first spot was the Vijaydurg fort which is located in the coastal town of Sindhudurg district. The town encompasses a vast horizontal and great historical vijaydurg fort. We had hired a car to roam around.

Then we went to Devgad which is 30km from the vijaydurg fort. The serene beach is situated in Devgad town of Sindhudurg district, it is a popular picnic spot and lies just 1km away from Devgad bus stand. The beach is sandwiched between the two small hills and there are some windmills located on a cliff on one end.

After that, we headed to the kunkeshwar temple in the evening. Kunkeshwar temple is an ancient temple of lord shiva near devgad. Its location is fantastic with a beach view. At night we reached to proper Malvan city market to stay.

Day 3

The next morning we woke up and went to the Rock garden, it is just made very near to the chivla beach which has a lot of rocks. This place is great for photos and some relaxing time. The whole day we spent roaming around the market and in the evening we went to witness sunset at chivla beach.

Day 4

We went to Tarkarli beach after breakfast, we took a bus to Tarkarli and from there is a ferry to tsunami island. One word that describes this island is unreal. This island is just a small piece of land where many water sports are done. When we got here we stepped in ankle-length water. We were just amazed by the water on all four sides. We did kayaking, it was really amazing. We could also watch the sunset in the middle of the ocean.

Day 5

The next day we went to Malvan Bandra to buy some fish from the auction after reaching there we saw Sindhudurg fort which is right in the middle of the sea after that whole day was resting day (as we all were tired).

Day 6

The next day we visited Bhogwe beach, went there in the morning. It is a little hidden gem. Then we visit several areas of Vengurla city and headed to Sawantwadi. Reached there, had lunch and went to see a huge palace which is situated in the middle of the city lake. The palace is very well maintained with little entry fee we could see and feel the past era of princely states. We could also experience the making of Ganjifa and other paintings works. Then we did shopping at the sawantwadi market which is near to the palace. After that, we traveled to Kudal at night.

Kudal is renowned for the annual fair (Jatra), which is organized at Kudaleshwar temple. Spent some time with friends lazing around the house and river and the next day afternoon left for Mumbai with memories. I would say it was a perfect trip and would definitely want to go back.
