Last year, I spent one week in Tokyo out of my 14 days in Japan & explored many places around Tokyo.
I took a couple of overnight trips and a day trip and fell in love with the Japanese countryside, its alpine resorts and varied landscapes.
The best part was these places were easily accessible and can be reached comfortably in a short time by the super famous bullet trains of Japan. These trips are perfect day trips or overnight trips as travelling time is only 2-3 hours.
