Jaisalmer was always in my wish list and finely on 30th of Dec I got an opportunity to visit The Golden city, with my friends. We started our journey on 30th Dec from NOIDA to Sam Sand Dunes, More than a city I was interested in The Desert (sam sand dunes) near to Pakistan border.
After 14 hrs of long drive we reached to our destination #Naivedyam Camp, which was pre-booked on really affordable price and well maintained. This long drive made me soo hungry and thanks to the camp for offering us wonderful mouth watering buffet of the local Rajasthani Cuisine. After resting for sometime in the tent Around 4 pm we went for the camel ride till the sunset point (part of the tent package) , view was wonderful and breathtaking ,we spent an hour there and did all adventure activities like camel ride, jeep safari etc. The golden stretch of the Thar Desert was giving my senses a totally exotic and royal feeling. When we returned to our tent, decoration was totally changed than the afternoon when we came here, beautiful lights, bonfire folk music everything was eye-catching. It was a New Year night so they had made special arrangement like DJ, evening snacks, cocktail fun activity etc, but the best part was food and Rajasthan dance in desert.
Next Day we rushed to the Jaisalmer Fort and found lots of colorful shops ,The beaded jewelry, brightly colored bangles, dupattas, bags and other handiworks indulged me into shopping. While roaming in the city we heard about Tanot Mata Mandir located near Indo Pak Border and 120 Km from the city Jaisalmer. We were very tired exploring city and almost done with sightseeing hence we decided to rest at Hotel Haweli which was very near to Jaislmer fort.
Jaisalmer’s major attractions are
- Jaisalmer Fort
- Bada Bagh
- Sam Sand Dunes
- The Thar Heritage Museum
- Gadisar Lake
- Tanot mata mandir
- Desert Nation Park
Next day as per the plan we went to Tanot Mata Mandir “It is said that during the Indo-Pak war of 1965, Pakistan dropped numerous bombs on the temple and in vicinity of temple but even a single bomb did not explode. People said that it only happened because of the divine powers of the Goddess Tanot, known as ‘Temple of Miracles’. There is a museum in the temple in which those unexploded bombs are still kept and worth to visit, after the temple we moved to see the Ind-Pak Border but unfortunately we were not aware about the pass and permission required to visit border so we were not allowed to enter to the border area but we somehow managed to see the camp and line from the distance. We were almost done with the local sightseeing and trip was about to end with the last attraction war museum.
The sunset was best part of my trip and Sam sand n dunes experience was an exotic and enthralling. I rejuvenated my tired soul and replenished my inner peace.
