Day 1:

An overnight bus to Hampi from Mumbai, reaches Hospet by 9:30-10:00 am.

Hospet to Hampi approx. 15 kms (30 minutes). Check-in your hotel (if you are staying in city centre) by 11:00. (check in time at most of these places is 9-9:30am.) Ask for a transfer by the hotel, they will be happy to arrange.

Take it easy on day 1, do local relaxed walks. Expected to start day at 1:30pm

Day 1

Bhima's Gate is one of the many gateways to the walled city. The gate (a huge arch complex) is interesting with its style of construction and the carvings on it. This gateway is a classic example of the Vijayanagara military architecture.

Day 1:

750 meters (10 minutes’ walk)

Monolithic Bull and Archaeology Museum. Time spend: 30 minutes

850 meters (15 minutes’ walk)

Kadalekalu Ganesha (Time spend: 10 minutes)

Day 2: Start your day early

Starting from Virupaksha Temple 2.5 kms (30 minutes’ walk). On the way you will pass Achyutaraya Temple, Kings Gateway and some other monuments / complexes, recommend just walk pass directly to Vitthala Temple first to avoid the crowd, other places can be done on way back

9:00am Vitthalla Temple. Time spend: 45 minutes. Highlight: Chariot of Hampi

King’s Balance. Time spend: 15 minutes

Day 2

Others places around: Narashima Temple, Ranganatha Temple, Vishnu Temple, Varaha Temple, Pushkarani, Courtesans street and many more

Climb: 15-30 minutes to Matanga Hill (70% of climb will be mountain stairs)

Matanga Hill. Time Spend: suggest 60+ minutes enjoy a 360-degree view of Hampi (if possible go for sunset)

Day 3

Day 3: Again, start your day early. Take a full day Auto from the market

9:00am Monkey Temple a.k.a Anjanadri TempleHill. Time spent: 90 minutes

A climb of 757 steps - 30 to 45 minutes

6 kms (15 minutes)

Sanapur Lake - Reservoir Rd. Time spent: 30 minutes

On way back to places to stop;

Bheemas Gate. Time spent: 15 minutes (keep an eye, the auto drivers will skip this one, this one is near Ganagitti Jain Temple, I noticed they show some other gate as Bheemas Gate)

Octagonal Bath. Time spent: 15 minutes

Queen's Bath. Time spent: 20 minutes

Elephant's Stables. Time spent: 20 minutes

Royal Enclosure; 60-75 minutes. Site with remnants of the royal complex where the king of the Vijayanagara empire lived.

Cover the Mahanavami (Dasara) Dibba, Hazara Rama Temple, Zenana Enclosure and Stepped Tank

Underground Shiva Temple. Time spent: 20 minutes

Sister Stones. Akka Tangi Gudda.. Time spent: 15 minutes

According to the local legend, the two boulders were actually two sisters who were cursed by the local deity after they made fun of Hampi's magnificent beauty.

Day 4

Day 4: Last day

Depending on your return route and plans one can visit Tungabhadra Dam (27 kms. from Hampi) or Daroji Bear Sanctuary (20 kms., it’s a bit detour if you are on way to Hospet) for both keep 2-3 hours in hand including travel time. These can be done on your way to Hospet (considering you have booked your return bus, which starts are Hospet)
