December 2016: A Mcleod Story

Tripoto
20th Dec 2016
Day 1

Okay. I am not making this up. What do you do when two Brothers meet at a Restro-Bar ? We discuss life right ? No. On 3rd December we discussed A journey to  happen. I was fed with the idea of "Live life quarter a mile a day" by Vin Diesel in Fast and the Furious. I am lucky enough to have a few bunch of friends whom I can count even in sleep for the rendezvous with the mountains. It started like this. Shall the two bros  go directly to the Himachal from Mumbai or Get a train ride to the capital? Seeing the air fares, our wallets refrained. As soon  my exams ended,I saw nothing but visualised McLeod in my eyes. Let's see what happens in Chilling December. Journey started on 20th December at 7.30 pm . And The Trip "Deciders" had nothing to "wear" for McLeod Trip. Live life quarter a mile was costing us in many ways. Our Bus Ride started from Potala Ground,Kashmere Gate. The Volvo I booked was very comfortable(It also projected The movie "Befikre" which mesmerised our Girls :P). I suggest you book Private Coaches for Road Trip. They have a cartel at Charging from people (It usually ranges from 1000 INR to 1200 INR) and provides a lot of facilities. We reached McLeodGanj on 22nd Morning at 6am. Very fresh air of Himachal had us all perplexed to the nature. Where else can we breathe such fresh air ?
Since we had no such comfy time(as our trek had to begin at 11am) we left luxury time to ourselves. We ate a lot and gotten ourselves with fresh mood. Trek to Triund had to start soonish. Looking from our Stay-in 'Pink House' at Triund,The "Lonely mountain" was calling us . It was a 10km straight distance up to reach Triund. I am sorry if I had pained some of my friends on this magnificent tale of our McLeod. But I am sure it would have been worth it to reach such heights . I remember the quote "It it's meant to be, it will be"  for the trail to the mountains.  After reaching to the triund, All our breathe was restored.   Without wasting much of our time , our gang started exploring the place around. Since it was a lovely Mountain,We had to resort to clicking pictures and posing a little for the trip diary :P In winters at Triund, The winter Chilling gets more and more chilled when time sun starts to fade away. We witnessed around -5° Celsius that night. I hope that you carry enough pullovers to keep your body and soul together there :')  Bonfire lit near our camps made us feel a little heat  and led us to serious life talks.Temperature at Triund started getting in our nerves. Next day we had to get down as soon as possible. We started a little late. As morning sunlight and little more exploration was still left. One thing you will notice about Triund in morning is that it shows you complete gesture of Warmy Air when you get at the edge of the Mountains. The sunlight helps you feel little comfortable during the Chilling Temperature. Our Guide 'Amit' was very down to earth. He talked us into doing a detour from 'Bhagsu' route which also housed the famous "Shiva Cafe" . We started for 'Bhagsu' Route at 9 am IST(December 22nd) . The route was more fun than the traditional route. This route made us see more epic horizons and epic sceneries. Although this route contains a lot of exertion if you want to risk it. But it will be worth it. We reached Shiva Cafe and had to eat a hearty meal. 1 kilometres more and then we were on a way to end our Triund Tale and begin our McLeod Tale.
We reached Our Hotel at around 3pm IST. we had to rest . Our Night Hangout at McLlo Restaurant was deliciously served through meals. The tradition of McLeod rests on the plates you seek to pay for. In our case,It was McLlo Restaurant which helped us live our Joyous moment.    I don't know how we initiated the "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara" idea of troubling any pedestrian on the go after dinner. :P but it was so exciting. It brought laughs to the gang.
I really suggest you to go in pack for this trip.
On the Third day,Our Girls had to shop from McLeod. WE Boys were prepared to take this too. Girls and shopping are very close to each other. They cannot leave each other easily. We also had to visit the world's highest situated stadium Chail stadium which is home to Punjab Cricket Association.  One mistake we did was(Particularly I)was that to book the return ticket from Bus Through Himachal Transport corporation. Do NOT commit this sin. please book the private coach. They are very much comfortable and "Befikre" can be handled. We had to get prepared for that. Journey for this year end brought smiles to my face. It marks the end of this wonderful sweet '16 year . It also makes various other things which also includes the after graduation trip to the Himachal. Some trips are meant to happen even if you are not prepared for it fully. In the end, Our "Live Life Quarter a mile" had to close its chapter.
Thank You my little Vagabond Family for this amazing 2016. This could not have been thrilling without you Guys.
Much Love.

The Triund.
