Coorg is known as Scotland of India because of the beautiful landscape similar to that in Scotland. Coorg is situated in Karnataka. It is also the largest Coffee producer district of India. Another name of Coorg is Kodagu.

How to reach - The road distance between Coorg and Bangalore is about 267.9 km which takes around 5 hours 20 minutes to cover.

By rail from Bangalore

From mysore
The distance of 120 kilometres between Mysore and Coorg can be commuted via route NH275, taking about 2-3 hours subject to traffic congestion.

By bus

Covering the total road distance within a period of 6 hours, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) have direct buses operating on this route. One can board the bus in Bangalore from the Kempegowda Bus Station; the passengers eventually having to de-board the bus at the KSRTC Bus Station, Madikeri. There are many seating options available to passengers, ranging from AC Semi-sleeper, AC Sleeper and Non AC Sleeper.

The popular bus operators are Ashwini Tours And Travels, Green Line Travels And Holidays, Gowri Shankar travels, Poornima Tours and SRS Travels. In addition to these, there are numerous private buses that you can opt for according to your convenience with fares ranging between INR 300 and 700. The first bus to depart from Bangalore to Coorg is the one at 7 AM and the last one at 23:00.

By car or bike is also suitable option - taxi charges close to rs 6000 for roundtrip from Bangalore.

Coorg, it is also called  the Switzerland of India enjoys pleasant weather conditions throughout the year. This place gives evergreen memories to its visitors. The aroma of cardamom and spices along with coffee and pepper are typical in taste. Coorg is famous for producing the tastiest honey and fragrant sandalwood

1. Abbey Falls: The famous Abbey Falls cascades down from an elevation of around 70 feet, amidst a lush spice and coffee plantation. The shimmering stream of gushing white water offers an incredibly beautiful sight to behold.

Dubare elephant camp -visited  Dubare elephant camp multiple times, Every time I been there I feel the place is different and nicer. You can have an elephant ride over, see the elephants bath in front of you, can do river rafting and the best part was diving into water with a life jacket in the middle of some dense forest.

Namdroling Monastery: Namdroling Monastery is a 3-storied shrine sheltering over 5,000 Buddhist nuns and monks. You can spend some peaceful time here, marveling at the gold-clad temple and relaxing in the meditative atmosphere.

Honnamana Kere Lake: Making for the largest natural lake of Coorg, Honnamana Kere Lake is known for its spiritual and religious significance. You can visit Goddess Honnamana temple located at the banks to seek blessings for your relationship.

Mandalpatti Viewpoint: Perched at an altitude of around 4050 feet inside the Pushpagiri Reserve Forest, Mandalpatti Viewpoint offers picturesque mountain views to bask in with your beloved.
