Chandratal Lake is one of the travel destination for many travellers who visit Spiti valley. There was a detour of around 14kms from Batal to Chandratal (also known as the moon lake) is located at a height of 4300 m in the himalayas. This place is famous among the trekkers (both India and abroad). It holds importance from the mythological point as well.
This road has several twist and turns. One should drive with utmost care as there are many narrow patches where giving passes to the opposite vehicles becomes almost impossible.
