Visa on arrival has started for Thailand, and this was a good enough motivation for us to plan a week long trip to Thailand ( ofcourse no one visits Thailand with Parents 🤣 , but we just did! ) The 10 of us, we took a direct flight from Delhi to Phuket which was a 5 hour journey. The late night flight took off at 12 :15 am from Delhi and woa! Next day morning 4:30 am we were in Phuket. The clock was shifted to 1.5 hours advance and it was 6 am already in Phuket.
We had a Day Tour of Phuket in the 10 seater Toyota and looked out of the window most of the time comparing Phuket with India. The first stop was Karon View point which was a hill top view of the city. The air was clean and fresh and natural beauty of Phuket was visible from the view point.
After a half a day tour in Phuket, we checked in to our Resort Centara Blue and spent time at the Patong Beach.
We took a ferry to phi-phi island next morning. It was a lovely and mesmerizing journey for about 2 hours in the triple decker ferry. The island was fun and we bathed our hearts out in the shallow beach.
In the evening we explored the Bangla street. It was a hip-hop market with back to back Bars and ping pong show marketing was at its peak. Our Math became really good as we got used to multiply by 2.5 for converting 1 Thai Bhat to INR at every store.
The next day we dedicated for Scuba diving at Coral Island. It costed 1900/- TBH for one person per dive. The beach was beautiful and worth getting lost in the magnanimity of the sea.
The swimming pool & other facilities at the resort were just amazing. It was a 3 hour drive from Phuket to Krabi.
The next day we visited 4 islands. It was a wonderful experience and all the 4 beaches were clean, pristine and worth every penny. The snorkelling experience at Chicken island was the best part of the island tour.
We flew from Krabi to Bangkok. It was via Nok Air flight and a 4 hour long journey. We visited the Siam Ocean World, which was a huge aquarium with sharks, penguins, fishes, crabs, frogs and all exotic marine lives. It is a must see if you are in Bangkok!!
The last 2 days of the trip were at Bangkok. We explored the markets and night life there. Bangkok was full of Indians and Indian Restaurants. The only negative part was the absence of fossets / jets in toilets. But surprisingly, this was the case only in Bangkok- the capital city!! The smaller towns like Phuket & Krabi had the jet/ fosset culture 😑😑
This was the high on energy area with back to back music bars.
The whole sale market was 25 acres in total!! It was a complete bargain game, as the initial prices would just make you make a U-turn from the shops! I faced a big challenge in buying a T-shirt for less than INR 500!! Overall it was a pricey affair to shop in Bangkok unless you had great bargaining skills. The locals were in general very rude to Indians. Maybe due to prior bad experiences ! 😅
Indira market was the local market next to Ramada that we explored. We tried all non-veg foods grilled on sticks. Another surprise was that the locals couldn't speak in English and yet they were running such a huge tourist economy!
We landed back to Delhi from Bangkok on Sunday after a week long indulgence in peace and serenity!! The total trip cost was 1.5 lakh INR for 2 people for a week. The usual Indigo, Go air and all other flights are operating for travelling to Thailand.
