When The Soul Went ‘Solo’ To The Perfect Gokarna!

Tripoto

If you’re a sucker for a clean & secluded beaches, then Gokarna is the place for you!

I was itching for a getaway to break the usual routine and I was beyond fed-up with the filthy and overcrowded beaches of Goa.. And so the dire need of fresh air took me to Gokarna.

This was my first solo trip, so my feelings were a cocktail of excitement & nervousness.

I boarded the bus from Bangalore at 9.30 PM…a bus I booked for only 2 days prior on Goibibo. I reached Gokarna at approximately 8.30am. I flagged down an auto and quickly reached the accommodation, Paradise Holiday Cottage. This was the only one available near the beach, so I booked it without a second thought. And I’m so glad I did!

After freshening up for a bit, I made my way to Kudle Beach. The beach was only a 10 minute walk from Paradise Holiday and the walk was incredibly gratifying to say the least. Before I knew it, the view of the vast ocean was upon me & all my inhibitions about this ‘solo trip’ faded away.

Never in my entire life, Have I seen a beach so pristine and sparsely populated. I knew I could be myself here. And so I slipped into my bikini and took a happy stroll on the beach.

Here’s an insider secret: There’s something incredibly peaceful and calming about being all alone in a shack on the beach, just sipping a chilled beer and gazing at the waves.

Close to evening I made my way to Om Beach which was, again, less than a 15 minute walk from Paradise Holiday. To my amazement, it was even more breathtaking than the Kudle Beach!

Sipping beer at Namaste Cafe, listening to the crashing of the waves, and drinking in the beauty of the sunset…it was life-changing to say the least! No picture clicked on my phone can compare to the actual beauty I witnessed.

Gokarna is definitely on the top of my list if I ever need to just get away & unwind.
