Mirik is a hill station in eastern part of India. Mirik is famous for it's beautiful Sumendu Lake and also for serving one of the best Thukpas in the hills. Mirik is somewhat around 45 kms from Siliguri which takes 1 hour - 1.30 hours. It is even very budget friendly as the entire trip will hardly cost you ₹3000-₹4000 max. We left Siliguri in the dusk time at around 4.30 p.m and after that we took 1 hour to reach Mirik. This trip was nostalgic as my Dad was once posted there and after so many years I'm going to the same place where I spent so many beautiful days. So by 5.30 pm - 6 pm it was pitch dark and the lights were on. So we decided to book our room and stay overnight. We booked the best hotel in Mirik, Hotel Jagjeet near the famous Lake of Mirik. We stayed there overnight after having couple of drinks and dinner.
Good Morning Mirik! We're ready to roam around the small, beautiful town of Mirik. So we had a wonderful breakfast in a restaurant near the lake, Thukpa and Momos are the specialty of Mirik. And then we started to roam around the town, starting from hiking near the lake to boating in the lake. The pictures will tell you rest of the story.
