I woke up early in the morning and packed my bag for the trip. I was feeling nervous and excited, both at the same time as It was my first Solo trip.
I boarded on a crowded bus to the Pondicherry. It was 3 and a half hrs away from Chennai.
At 11 AM, I reached the destination.
(Pro tip: Star most of the tourist attractions of your destination on Google maps). I searched for the direction of my stay. Meanwhile, I noticed that Biological park was just 7 min walk away from this bus station. So, I decided to visit it before going to my stay.
After an hour of strolling in the park. I headed towards this famous Church.
It was only 7 mins walk away from exit gate of Garden.
It felt so calm and peaceful in the church, and the architecture was great. I spent some time there and left for my stay which was 5 mins walk away from there.
I had booked a bed in a dorm room via Booking.com. It was facilitated with all the basic amenities with a spacious kitchen, and a beautiful living room. I rested for a while and then went to fill up my tummy. There were a lot of good French-themed restaurants around.
Around 2 PM, I headed towards the White town which was 14 mins walk away from the restaurant.
While you stroll around this area; You'll see beautiful French-styled houses that'll make you like I wanna buy a property in future here. Soon, I reached Bharathi park.
I observed the beautiful monuments and statues, green Trees and Old Canons.
It was about two blocks away from the Bharathi Park. It costed Rs.10 for the entrance ticket into the museum. It had a wide vintage collection of weapons, artifacts, historical agreements, Liquors, Chariots, statements, Furniture and many more. Taking pictures was strictly prohibited inside.
I was really attracted to the architecture of the temple and the holy elephant blessing the peoples. I spent some time on the temple's floor thinking what to do next after darshan of lord Ganesha.
After Temple, I went to Sri Aurobindo Ashram which was 3 mins away from there.
It was a very Calm and important spot for finding the book written by the Guru Aurobindo and The mother and their history. The environment was serene and you get very positive vibes. There was a spot for meditation which I liked the most.
Again, Camera was not allowed inside its premises.
Now, The time was around 4 o' clock. So, it was a perfect time to go to the beach. So, I headed towards the nearest beach which was Puducherry beach. I walked along the coastline and finally reached to the rock beach.
The view was perfect. I just sat down there on a rock until it got dark sipping the cold drink thinking of how I spent the day and enjoying the waves hitting the rocks and splashing little droplets on my body.
I decided to go to promenade beach the next day early in the morning to see the beautiful sunrise sitting on the rocks of the coastline.
I went back to my stay at around 7:30 and ate my dinner and slept early.
Woke up early in the morning and headed towards promenade beach which was like 7 blocks away from the hostel.
I sat down on the dead end of the rocks and just lived the moment capturing the beautiful view and the morning.
I got information about reaching the Auroville from the hostel staff and then I checked out from there and headed towards the bus stop to Auroville at 10 o' Clock.
I'm writing another blog on Auroville. So, please stay tuned to read my solo experience at Auroville.
