Rajasthan – When you think of this state, the things that come in your mind are – royalty, luxury, colours and comfort. The state is full of aesthetic views and marvellous objects that can be explored if our pockets are loaded.
Wrong!
I spent a week in Rajasthan, traveling to 7 cities under Rs 10,000. This is how I did it:
I started off on Friday night from Delhi, and boarded Nizamuddin - Thiruvananthapuram Central SF Express at 11.30pm which arrived at Kota at 6.15am the next day.
Money Spent:
Sleeper Class Ticket: Rs. 295
I visited Garadia Mahavir Temple, Kota Garh Museum and 7 wonders in Kota. And stayed in a dormitory in Hostel Kota.
Money Spent:
Public Transport to Khadipur – Rs. 50 | Ticket to Garadia Mahadev – Rs 75 | Public Transport on return – Rs. 40 | Ticket to Kotagarh – Rs. 100 | Hostel Bed – Rs 350 | Food for the day – Rs 450
Total: Rs 1065
Next day I took a train early in the morning to Chittorgarh where I visited Chittorgarh Fort, Rana Ratan Palace, Rani Padmini Mahal and other historical sites. I spent my night at Natraj Tourist Hotel.
Money Spent:
Train to Chittorgarh – Rs. 100 | Public Transport – Rs. 70 | Tickets to Monuments – Rs. 80 | Hotel – Rs. 500 | Food for the day – Rs. 400
Total – Rs. 1150
I took a train to Udaipur early in the morning, and visited Udaipur palace and the fabulous streets and markets of the lake city. I stayed at Zostel Udaipur.

Train to Udaipur – Rs 170 | Palace Ticket – Rs 50 | Public Transport – Rs 200 | Zostel – Rs 400 | Food for the day – Rs 800
Total – Rs 1620
Next morning I took a bus to the blue city Jodhpur. I visited Umaid Bhavan Palace and Mehrangarh Fort. I didn't stay in the city at night and took a train to Bikaner.
Money Spent:
Bus to Jodhpur – Rs 280 | Entry Tickets – Rs 150 | Public Transport – Rs 150 | Food for the day – Rs 600 | Hostel – Rs 200
Total – Rs 1380
I arrived at Bikaner early in the morning. I rented a bike and explored around the city visiting Karni Mata Temple and sand dunes. I also visited Rampuria Haveli and Junagarh Fort. I stayed at Saffron Guest House.

Train to Bikaner – Rs 200 | Entry Fees – Rs 50 | Rented Bike + Petrol – Rs 350 | Food for the day – Rs 500 | Guest House – Rs 250
Total – Rs 1350
I took an early morning bus to Ajmer from Bikaner. From there I immediately left for Pushkar. I spent the evening visiting the Pushkar lake and Brahma temple and roaming in the markets. I stayed at Madpackers Hostel.

Bus to Ajmer – Rs 210 | Public Transport – Rs 40 | Food for the day – Rs 600 | Hostel – Rs 350
Total – Rs 1200
The next morning, I took a bus to the final city of my trip – Jaipur. I spent the day visiting the markets of Jaipur as I had already visited the forts and palaces on my earlier trips. I also shopped for my family here as I hadn't bought anything on the entire trip . Later in the night, I took a bus to Delhi from Jaipur .

Bus to Jaipur – Rs 180 | Food for the day – Rs 500 | Shopping – Rs 700 | Public transport – Rs 150 | Bus to Delhi – Rs 220
Total – Rs 1850
Total amount spent on the trip – Rs 9,910
