Are you a vegetarian exploring Thailand? Like in most of the oriental countries where the staple foods are made of meat, the only option to survive here would have been to look for Indian food. But now, with veganism and vegetarianism on the bloom everywhere, there are plenty of vegan restaurants and eateries that have opened up and there’s one good thing about that – vegetarians can now sample local Thai delicacies as well so you can have the complete Thai experience when you're here which includes gorging on some yummy Thai food!
Thailand’s got delectable and unique local food that has vegetarian and vegan versions of them everywhere in most of the big cities. Here's a list of some places in the major cities where you can sample some yummy local Thai dishes like the Pad Thai, Khao Pad, Thai salads, the green and red curries – all done up with absolutely no meat in them.
There’s something you should know before you experience the food at one of these restaurants : some of the menus of these places have vegetarian chicken and vegetarian mutton listed in them and these aren’t made of meat. They are in fact made out of tofu, soy protein and sometimes mushrooms and are considered as some sort of a replacement to meat, also called as mock-meat.
