Coorg, also known as Kodagu , is the most beautiful hill station in Karnataka. Rich history and beautiful scenery makes Coorg a perfect place to visit. Coorg is famous for its spices and coffee plantations. If you want to make your stay memorable, don't head to famous hotels. Make yourself comfortable in home-stays so that you can experience the actual Coorg. Also, the food provided by home-stays is much closer to the actual taste of Coorg's food which you would not get if you stay in some royal hotel.

Coorg is about 260-280 kms away from Bangalore. You can get buses from Bangalore easily. But I love road trips. And when you have amazing group of friends with you, who wanna miss a road trip ...!!

I went to Coorg in June which is Monsoon time. It is not generally advisable to visit Coorg during Monsoon since it will be raining all the times and many sightseeing spots will remain closed, so avoid visiting during Monsoon if you are not a rain lover.Yes, I am a rain lover and on top of it I am a nature lover too. I wanted to enjoy Coorg in lavish green scenic beauty during Monsoon.

Day 1

We booked a cab from Bangalore that was with us for the whole trip. We started early at 3:00 AM to avoid rush and enjoy the actual road trip !! On the way to Coorg , our first stop was Shivasamudram. It is a small city with beautiful landscapes. You can visit waterfalls here and also stay for capturing some perfect pictures. There are also some good homestays which offer good breakfast. We had our breakfast in Shivasamundram.

After this, we headed towards Mandalpatti. Mandalpatti is around 18 km away from Coorg. Mandalpatti view point is at height and to reach there you can book a jeep from anywhere in Coorg . We booked a jeep for our group. It was raining continuously and roads condition was not very good that made the jeep ride thrilled. It was more of a kind of roller coaster ride. We were enjoying every bit of it.

We returned back to Coorg and enjoyed our stay at home stay.
