A lot of people think that Hyderabad is a boring place to live in, that there is nothing to explore around here. But that is so untrue. If you don't mind traveling a bit further than the immediate places like Bidar, Ananthagiri Hills, etc. then you will end up having a lot of fun.

After all, you have both Maharashtra and Karnataka to explore along with Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for a short weekend getaway. And after living for 3 years in Hyderabad for my job, I can certainly say that there is no shortage of places for a nice weekend getaway.

So, if you are looking to escape Hyderabad for the weekend, here are a few places to head out to.

Pawna Lake

Situated midway between Pune and Mumbai, Pawna Lake is one of the best places for a camping weekend trip from Hyderabad. Here, you can relax beside the lake and can also enjoy a few exciting activities like trekking to the Lohagadh Fort, Tikona Fort, etc. or you can paraglide into the sunset here as well.

As you are surrounding by the mountains and a reflective lake, it can be really refreshing from your daily hustle.

Araku Valley

You can spend a couple of hours here, in the water or exploring the nearby area and make it more of a short hiking trip.
