After a lot of roaming in Auroville towards Matri Mandir and buying a lot of booze, we got hung over in our hotel room till night. When we came back to our senses, me and my boyfriend realized that it was around 10pm. It's night and we got ready to hit the city of Pondicherry to celebrate my birthday night in the most happening place of Pondicherry, White Town.
The distance between Auroville to Pondicherry is about 7 km but the route in the mornings gives the natural vibes, but in the night, it gives the modern yet traditional vibes. Only the glow of light can hit the darkness. Hence, the lighting scenario of Pondicherry city comes into the picture. Various shops, stores, restaurants, hotels and most importantly temples of Pondicherry are decorated with lights in a beautiful and appealing way. One can hardly feel the darkness in nights of Pondicherry.
On our way to White town and Rock beach of Pondicherry, to get rid of our hangover, we stopped at one of the happening parlors in White town streets. We had the color Masala Lemonade. Trust me, one should try this, because it tastes different. As I have mentioned earlier, White town is one of the most happening places in Pondicherry and the Rock beach that paired with this beautiful town is an extra feather in the cap of Pondicherry City. We parked our vehicle very far from the end of the beach road of White town. Because the vehicles aren't allowed to roam on beach road. That rule literally impressed me and those cleanest roads were like paths of heaven.
We headed to have our quick dinner as it was closing time all the restaurants in White Town near Rock beach. We went to the restaurant named "Escape In", and ours was the last order of the day it seemed. We had the delicious dinner in the restaurant and soon after we stepped out of it, I could sense the beach breeze kissing my skin. It was really beautiful, serene and peaceful. As, it was republic day, the whole buildings was decorated in Tricolor Indian Flag light decorations. In fact, each building near Rock beach has oozed the patriotism out of it. We sat on one of the stone benches away from the beach. The ocean, the rocks, the footpath, the road, the footpath, the benches and the buildings, this was the order from Ocean to Earth in White Town.
The late night vibes of White Town were mesmerizing and adoring to the core. One could find people 24/7 near Rock beach and on the roads of White town. It was something that was happening. I have seen many visitors, travelers, couples, families and many people from many states and countries hanging out late night. It was like Mumbai Nariman Point but not too crowded.
Forgot to mention, in the Whole Pondicherry, if one wants to have a cup of coffee to eat something delicious, one can only find food and drinks at any point of time at this place called "Le Cafe", the only restaurant which serve its customers round clock. And it is a self service restaurant. One should help themselves to stand in queue, order the food, grab the table and enjoy the fillings. The rush in this place is never ending concept. People keep visiting this place every day, and the crowd will be more on weekends and late nights. Because who doesn't love hanging out at late night cafes to have a romantic getaway or to have a peaceful time.
Two cups of delicious Cappuccino from Le Cafe have literally elevated and boosted up our hangover moods and we could able to enjoy the whole night. I was getting a lot of calls from my people and receiving their phone calls on the Rock Beach road was awesome. I always wanted to celebrate my birthday in between strangers. It was really sweet and romantic.

The cool breeze, full moon, the noise of waves, the darker sky, my boyfriend beside me sitting on the brink of beach road was totally inexplicable. I think I had one of the best romantic getaways in Pondicherry.
Exploring the roads of White Town in the late night times was fun and it was also the best time to count on each and every french inspired building on the shore of Rock beach. Those florescent lights on the either sides of the wide roads, those coconut and palm trees, the beach on the side was too much to fill in one's eyes. It was like an eye feast witnessing the whole late night scene of White Town.
So, if you ever visit Pondicherry, don't waste your light night by sleeping. Try exploring White town in the midnight times and especially spend some bucks in Le Cafe. Trust me the food and beverages worth every penny you spend there. Sit and relax for a while all alone on the brinks of Rock beach and search for the solutions you are looking for. The best place to get lost in the nature in Pondicherry is White Town. It is indeed a blend of natural, traditional, ultra modern and polished place in Pondicherry..!!
