Hi! It depends on the places you wanted to visit. There are many places in South to explore based on weather aspects. It can be possible to cover major attractions with budget travels like traveling in train, use of local transport, Street food, staying at dorms or hostels will cover major cost and help you explore the places. All the best.

If you mean full of south India, the packages come between 30k to 50k for 5 days. So based on your number of days kindly calculate accordingly. If you have planned a tight budget here are some things you could do Eat in mess houses all over south India which cost less for food, at the same time taste that state cuisine Stay in hostels, zostels, inns which have less cost stay. Travel in all possible public transport within the states Window shop a lot, at the same time not miss out on yum street food. Still I personally feel within 40k you might not cover the places, for I travelled to all south states and spent nearly 80k based on my stay options and mode of transport.

I find most of the tourist places, especially in hills are killing the nature in the name of development. thousands of hotels and other properties are springing up, the space coming from cutting trees. roads are getting broader by cutting the mountains itself. Tourism generates a lot of waste, for which the management isn't proper. All these things are in turn looking ominous for the fragile mountain ecosystem.

Tadoda tiger reserve is better area wise also and number of tiger also more then pench tiger reserve, also tadoda was India's best reserve.so it is clear that tadoda is gud .

Pench national park is located between two states- Madhya pradesh and Maharashtra. Located on Satpura ranges, this park is the home of Bengal tiger, Indian leopard and lot of birds. The popular tigress of this park is called as Badi mada. Tadoba national park located in Maharashtra at Andhari river is a lovely national park famous for its lovely greenery. Home of Tigers, sloth bears there are lot of bird seen here along with endangered species. Two tigress rule this park, Maya and Madhuri. I would suggest Tadoba, for it's jeep safaris, all chances of viewing the tigress(if you are lucky) and the green forest.
