RAJASTHAN. The largest state by area and one of the most beautiful by sight! How could I have the trip of a lifetime and not write about it? Come let's take a tour... :-)
My dad took me to several new places as a child (till graduation a child is still a child :-P) So I decided to plan one for my parents this time and what better option than the spectacular royal state of Rajasthan?! To ensure convenience and safety for my mom and dad I booked stay and intercity transfers via "Jaipur Travel Agency" with their main office located in Jaipur itself. Welcome aboard to their inexplicable hospitality and mouth-watering dishes!
The trip itinerary goes like this (briefly) :-
29.02.2016 - Arrival at the Pink City of Jaipur and overnight stay. Pre-booked private AC cab picked us up from the airport and dropped to our hotel safely.
DAY 1 01.03.2016 - Places covered in sightseeing : Amber Fort, Jal Mahal, Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Jantar Mantar ending with shopping from a government store. The package included an evening visit to Chokhi Dhani, I must say, "Je na dekhiyo Jaipario, toh kal mein aakar kya kariyo!" :-P :-D
DAY 2 02.03.2016 - Places covered : Junagarh Fort, Camel Breeding Farm, Ganga govt. museum, Lalgarh Palace - check in at Bikaner with overnight stay.
DAY 3 - 03.03.2016 - Proceed for the Golden City of Jaisalmer after complementary breakfast. Kheechan on the way, ride to Sam Sand Dunes - camel ride and desert safari on Thar Desert. Sunset from camel back - a view one can never forget all his life once witnessed! Check in at Fort in Jaisalmer for 2 nights stay as planned.
DAY 4 - 04.03.2016 - Places covered (guide who speaks both Hindi and English included for the convenience of my mom :)) : Jaisalmer Fort, Patwon ki Haveli, Gadsisar Sagar Lake, Tazia Tower, and evening visit to local singing and dancing festival of Dhola Maaru in a resort pre-arranged at Sam Sand Dunes!!!
DAY 5 - 05.03.2016 - Leave for Jodhpur (with a heavy heart :-() via Pokhran. Places covered once reached : Mehrangarh Fort, Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jaswant Thada.
DAY 6 - 06.03.2016 - Leave for Mount Abu and brace yourself for an extraordinary ride through the hilly roads up to the chilling and mesmerizing hillstation :-)
DAY 7 - 07.03.2016 - After an overnight stay at Mt. ABu, leave for the White City of Udaipur via Ranakpur Temples and spend the evening shopping ;-)
DAY 8 - 08.03.2016 - Places covered : Lake Palace, City Palace, Jag Mandir in boat ride, Saheliyon-ki-bari, Fateh Sagar, overnight stay in Udaipur.
DAY 9 - 09.03.2016 - Start for Ajmer, visit Haldighati on the way (recollect the legendary battle?), visit a Rose Cultivation Farm, reach the Dargah and leave for Pushkar on the same day. Visit the Brahma Temple in Pushkar, evening Aarti at Pushkar Lake and leave for Jaipur, overnight stay in same hotel in Jaipur.
DAY 10 - 10.03.2016 - Depart for the airport carrying beautiful embroidered clothing, accessories, miniature gifts for close ones and tons of amazing memories...
