Camping in the woods is not permitted in/around Kudremukh. People usually visit the Wildlife park or go for Kudremukh trek in that area. You need to have a permission from the forest official and must have a guide if you are going for the trek. A homestay at the local village is a good option to consider if you have enough contacts. On the contrary, if you want to avoid all the headache of arranging stay and getting permissions, opt to go with an organized group. Can provide you the link if you are interested.
