Day 1

Wanted to welcome new year 2019 away from the crowd, in a quiet, scenic place. Had been new year long weekend, decided to travel to Cheerapunji from Pune.

Boarded the flight from Pune to Guwahati on 29th early morning and picked up window seat with expectation to watch aerial view of Kanchemgunga peak.

Roads from Guwahati to Shillong is very good and scenic. Come across so many organic fruit shops, specially filled with yummy pineapple.. One should not miss it. I really enjoyed those yummy, tasty pineapple on d way.

you can't miss amazingly beautiful Umiam Lake while driving down from Guwahati to Shillong. You can enjoy water sports there if time permits.

Before reaching to Cherrapunji, we halted at Dylan's Cafe in Shillong.. Its quiet place with tasty food, good music, Bob Dylan' s portrat, graffiti, nice interior to unwind.

Late evening, reached to Hiraba Home stay at Cheerapunji to take a rest and begin next day early morning.

Day 2

Next day got up early morning 5 am to begin eventful day to visit-

Longest living root bridge,

Double Decker root bridge,

Blue Lagoon

Rainbow waterfall

.

Quite a list of to do things.. It really checks on your endurance. One need to really into fitness to climb up and climb down approximately 13 k steps round trip.

We started by 7 am from Cherrapunji and reached to Tyrna village to start our trekking.

.

While trekking you will be astonished by mesmerizing landscapes, variety of fl aura fauna, variety of butterflies.

Day 1

Being strenuous climb, it's less crowded.

Day 2

Back to Cheerapunji by 6pm, post enjoying unexceptional beauty of the nature, completeing marathon of 13k steps climbing up and down, jammed knees to take rest and up in the morning for next day travel.

Asia's Cleanest Village -Mawlynnong Village, one and half hour journey from Dawki.

It's learning for every fellow citizens, if everyone of us decide to keep our city clean and hygenic, its become heaven on an earth.. kudos to people of Mawlynnong.

You can' t find single leaf on the road, houses are decorated with colorful floral plants. Friendly people.

After spending an hour at Mawlynnong, driving back to Shillong to end 2018 at quiet, cosy place #Heritage Club - Tripura Castle.

.

While driving back, witnessed silhouette of sunset.. Awestruck by its beauty.. Sky turned into red.. Spreading across the mountain range.. And sun engulfed himself in those mountains giving the hope of better tomorrow.

Had a pleasant stay at Heritage Club - Tripura Castle and welcome 2019 with new hopes and aspirations.

Day 4

Next day morning, had to catch up flight for Pune in the evening . So post breakfast, decided to driving back to Gauwahati, visiting few places in Shillong.
