Our experience of North East in the form of 9 day itinerary

DAY 2

After breakfast at 8:00 a.m., leave for cherrapunji (2 Hrs) go for elephant falls on the way and go for double decker root bridge trek and rainbow trek (will take 5 to 6 hours for this) and come back to shillong. Overnight stay at shillong.

DAY 3

After breakfast at 8:00 a.m., leave for mawlynnlong (2 ½ Hrs) (cleanest village of asia) and then move to dawki (Indo Bangladesh Border) and night camping at Dirang or Shnongpdeng (15 kms from dawki). Night camping subject to rainy conditions. otherwise visit shillong peak in shillong. Overnight stay at shillong.

DAY 4

Leave early morning (7:00 am) visit grandcanyon (1 hour drive from shillong) then visit cherrapunji for mawsmai caves, seven sister falls and nohkalikai falls then back to shillong. Visit police bazaar in shillong. Overnight at shillong.

DAY 5

After breakfast leave for guwahati airport, then catch flight to bagdogra and visit darjeeling (3 hours drive from bagdogra airport). Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

DAY 6

After breakfast , go for trek from dhotrey village(2 ½ hours from darjeeling) to tonglu and tumling (enroute visit monasteries and breathtaking views) and see Kanchenjunga peaks if monsoon permits,(trek will take around 4-5 hours) and come back to Darjeeling. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

DAY 7

Go for a local sightseeing in Darjeeling, starting from tiger hill at 4:00 a.m. to mall road at 4 pm. Look for a good pub (joey pub). Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

DAY 8

Leave for bagdogra airport after breakfast then catch flight to guwahati. Relax in guwahati. See the mighty Brahmaputra river in the evening and local bazaar. Overnight stay at guwahati.
