The thought of going on a vacation had been in my mind since quite long and then my friends and I actually happened to go for one.
Implemented our thoughts into reality.
We booked the train & bus tickets, packed our bags and started with the journey.
So our journey started with boarding the train from Mumbai at around 12:30 PM, unfortunately we dint book the AC tier seats so it was really a hot and a sweaty ride. But still we reached Chandigarh the next day in the evening at around 5:30 PM.
Took a room nearby the station just to freshen up and left at around 8:00 PM for bus stop where we had to catch the bus for Bhuntar.
Had a good dinner at Peddlers and then later left for the bus stop which was about 10 mins away from this place.
Reached the bus stop and waited for an hour since the bus got delayed.
Finally, the bus arrived.
At around 7-8:oo AM in the morning we reached Bhuntar. Had tea and some parathas and then again hopped in the local bus which took us to Kasol. The 2 hour journey is full of amazing views. Finally the bus dropped us at Kasol.
The weather around there was 10-11 degree Celsius.
Once after reaching there we started hunting for hotels to stay.
Finally found one named Sony Cottages. The rooms were good, the view was amazing, and the food was tasty. Do try the Hot Chocolate there.
We all dozed off for a while as everyone was too tired with the travelling. Woke up and ordered some parathas, maggi & omlet. Took a shower which was refreshing and energizing.
We then left for the kasol market to checkout the local shops and roamed around the area to explore things.
For dinner we went to the famous Jim Morrison Cafe. Must try the pizzas over there. Though you'll have to do a bit of trek to reach there but the effort is worth it.
Woke up in the morning took a cab to Tosh. Had a halt for half an hour at the Gurudwara Sahib Manikaran which was very peaceful.
Continuing our journey it took us around an hour to reach Tosh. Had to do a bit of walking to reach the hotel. We stayed at Cafe'19 which is almost at the end of the village. The rooms here give a brilliant view of this beautiful small town.
Rested for the whole day here and had dinner at the hotel.
Next day we woke up packed our bags and left for the Kheerganga trek. On the way we had our breakfast at a famous bakery - The German Bakery.
Continuing with the journey we finally reached the starting point for the trek near the Dam. We started our trek at around 12:00 PM and reached at around 4:30 PM. We took around 3-4 stops on the way enjoying the nature, clicking pictures.
As soon as we reached on the top we rented the tents and then went off to the Kund (Hot water spring). Enjoyed the time over there. P.S There's no network over there.
Woke up fresh in the morning had our breakfast and started our trek back to the dam. From there we went back to Kasol and took a day off there. Had an amazing dinner at a café nearby.
Next day early in the morning we took a cab directly from the nearby Taxi union and left for Waichin Valley. We got down at the last Dam end. And started our trek to Waichin.
It took us around 2 hrs. of trekking to reach the top. There aren't much places or cafes to stay, so prior bookings are a must.
The Cafes and food over there is great. The people are very humble and are always ready to help. The villagers like to maintain a distance and won’t even let you touch anything. But the place is amazing and very calm..
Next day morning we left from Waichin and roamed a bit around the Malana village and left for Manali. It took us around 2-3 hours to reach Manali from Barshaini via bus. We reached Manali in the evening and took a homestay at very dirt cheap price.
Next day morning went out and visited some popular tourist spots nearby and also visited famous café - Cafe 1947 in Old Manali.
The next day was a very lazy day!! We did not go out anywhere. We had a bus to catch in the evening from a private bus stop which took around half hour to reach from the Mall road. We had some parathas and maggi at the bus stop. And sat into the bus for Amritsar.
We reached Amritsar also known as AMBARSAR at 9:00 AM. Took a room near the Golden Temple. Took some rest, freshened up and went out an hour prior for the Attari Border , as the seats are occupied too soon over there.
That feeling of being there gives a different sense of pride and Goosebumps. After a great show we left to visit the Golden Temple.
Had a very great and soothing evening in Amritsar with tons of great food to eat and lots of places to shop by.
Must visit - Kesar Dhaba
Next day early in the morning we had a train which would take us back to Mumbai. After a wonderful trip it was time to hit the bay.
